Women´s month has arrived. And even though the cold weather invaded our city, we still would like to highlight two women who remind us the warmth of our Latino community.

If the Social Responsibility programs were to be a part of a competition, the dynamic duo of Idalis Bailey and Cenia Paredes would be top of the table performance. These two outstanding professionals want to share the importance of collaborating with the community through a “Beauty Runway” in aid of women who are part of the “Purple Star” program, that helps people both women and men, who have been victims of domestic violence.

The program focuses on working on self-esteem, and it’s provided at Renew Esthetics MediSpa, and its mission is to enhance and empower with high quality aesthetic treatments to those victims, The techniques and support implemented, have had great success over the years.

Bailey is the president of the Chamber of Commerce with more than 5 years working with the community, she’s also the owner of a small business with more than 20 years of experience in the area of both health and aesthetics, has not only been positioned as one of the most recognized estheticians in New York, but also educates her patients with the importance of beauty from the inside out. That is why her company, Renew Esthetics MediSpa, has a deep commitment to support the community.

Same as Cenia Paredes, renowned Fashion Designer, with more than 10 years of experience with her own line in the fashion industry. Which has sold to over 100 specialty stores nationwide and internationally, and is the first designer to address the figure variation in women by creating four distinctive fits for the most predominant female body types, bringing it to a major department store such as Macy’s. Her brand has not only reached to celebrities such as Gloria Estefan, Adrienne Bailon, among others, but she also has been positioned as one of the most recognized and award-winning latinas in the New York media.

Together, this two amazing and empowered women, want to contribute with their professional and human experience through this “Beauty Runway” in which victims of the program will be the stars of the event, dominating the catwalk. They would like to underline, that those who are suffering from domestic violence not only need aesthetic tools but also empowerment. With this, Idalis and Cenia demonstrate once again, that the Latino community is present in a solid way in the human development of our city, and that the support to those who are most in need, is something real in the industries that one least expects.
